N\u00e9o-japonisme et<br>photographie d\u2019architecture<\/em><br>Quels sont les liens entre l\u2019oeuvre inachev\u00e9e de Piet Mondrian, <em>Victory Bougie Woogie <\/em>(1942-<br>1944), et la photographie d\u2019architecture japonaise et japonisante d\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre ?<br>D\u00e8s le milieu des ann\u00e9es 1950, critiques et photographes relient volontiers la peinture de<br>Mondrian avec l\u2019architecture japonaise moderne. Deux d\u00e9cennies plus tard, des historiens<br>soutiennent que Mondrian aurait lui-m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 influenc\u00e9 par l\u2019architecture japonaise<br>traditionnelle\u2026 Ces associations puissantes ont concouru au rapprochement de la modernit\u00e9<br>architecturale de l\u2019Occident avec celle du Japon. Elles sont \u00e9galement un pilier de la survivance<br>du japonisme architectural, autrement dit un pilier du n\u00e9o-japonisme qui se d\u00e9veloppe apr\u00e8sguerre.<br>Or cette relation entre l\u2019abstraction de Mondrian et l\u2019esth\u00e9tique de l\u2019architecture<br>japonaise se per\u00e7oit peu dans l\u2019architecture, mais plut\u00f4t dans la photographie d\u2019architecture.<br>Cette communication, qui pose un regard oblique sur la toile de Mondrian, interroge les<br>oeuvres des plus grands photographes d\u2019architecture japonais et am\u00e9ricains pour expliquer les<br>m\u00e9canismes de la japonisation du monde architectural entre 1945 et 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br>11h-12h (Paris)\/19h-20h (Tokyo)<\/strong><br><strong>V\u00e9ronique Brindeau (INALCO)<\/strong>. <em>La photographie d\u2019architecture selon Sugimoto Hiroshi<\/em><br><em>Architectures<\/em> est le titre d\u2019une s\u00e9rie argentique en noir et blanc entreprise en 1997 par le<br>photographe Sugimoto Hiroshi. N\u00e9 en 1948 \u00e0 Tokyo, \u00e9galement form\u00e9 au design et \u00e0<br>l\u2019architecture, son champ d\u2019activit\u00e9 s\u2019\u00e9tend \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation d\u2019installations et de sc\u00e9nographies,<br>en particulier de th\u00e9\u00e2tre n\u00f4.<br>Dans la lign\u00e9e des <em>Dioramas<\/em>, <em>Seascapes<\/em> ou <em>Theaters<\/em>, la s\u00e9rie <em>Architecture<\/em> s\u2019attache \u00e0 une<br>repr\u00e9sentation d\u2019embl\u00e8mes de l\u2019architecture moderne \u2013 Villa Savoye de Le Corbusier, Maison Schr\u00f6der de Rietveld, \u00c9glise de lumi\u00e8re d\u2019Ando Tadao entre autres. Le parti pris d\u2019un flou<br>radical fait appara\u00eetre ces lieux comme des s\u00e9pulcres anonymes, rapport\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs composantes<br>essentielles, entrevus au filtre du temps.<br>\u00ab J\u2019ai entrepris de retracer les d\u00e9buts de notre \u00e9poque \u00e0 travers l\u2019architecture. En poussant la<br>distance focale de mon vieil appareil grand format \u00e0 deux fois l\u2019infini, j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert que<br>l\u2019architecture \u2018superlative\u2019 r\u00e9siste \u00e0 l&rsquo;assaut de la photographie floue.
